Gypsy

Gypsy (the second) ... without a doubt, was the best dog who ever set four paws on the face of the Earth!  She started out life as a stray in California.  An Army captain and his wife adopted her while in Monterey and brought her to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany where he would attend the Army's Foreign Area Officer school.  Strange ..... because the wife didn't like dogs!  Anyway, while her husband was off on a class trip to Moscow, she franticly attempted to give the dog away!  She had a couple in Austria lined up, but those plans fell through.  Fortunately, we happened to live across from this couple and heard she wanted to get rid of the dog.  Our Yorkie (Gypsy .... the first) had just passed away and the Pomeranian, Cindy, was feeling lonely.  We decided to take her on a trial basis.  It only took one day to realize what a great dog she was.  Gypsy took to me immediately and we were inseparable.  Even though she was clearly "my" dog .... she loved everyone.  Gypsy was with us until 2004 when she passed away at the age of 15 from heart failure.  If there was ever a dog I would like to clone ..... she would be the one.

Gypsy's final resting place.
